You need a back to top button when your homepage has lots of content and it’s very long. Users will have to manually scroll all the way up again to get back to the navigation menu. To avoid this bad-user-experience, a back to top button is the best solution in this case. In this post you will learn how to add a scroll to top button.
- Create your WordPress theme in Themes Generator.
- Export your theme and install it into WordPress.
- In the Customizer, go to Main settings and click on “Show back to top button”
- You can customize the button by changing the background color, the arrow color, opacity, hover options and place it on the right or left of the page.
As you can see, adding a return to top button is very easy. This button is optional, but it is strongly recommended to use whenever your website pages are very long. Users will be less frustrated if you place this button on your site to help them navigate. Just think about it: An interested user or potential customer/client visits your site and seems interested, if it takes them too long to get back to the menu on the top of the page, they might as well never come back to it.
